Blue Beret & Caravan Website Text: Beginning at milepost 0 of the Alaska Highway in Dawson Creek, British Columbia you will experience the majestic scenery of British Columbia, Yukon Territory and Alyeska “The Great Land”. We will drive through the Yukon Territory and ferry the Yukon River in Dawson City. Part of the adventure is to then drive the famous bumpy but very scenic “Top of the World Highway” to Chicken Alaska. Don’t be chicken going to Chicken! Here you will see and experience the wild Alaska bush country. This first part of the trip will include a visit to Skagway and an optional visit to Eagle, AK. It is then on to Delta Junction (the end of the Alaska Hwy}, Fairbanks, Denali and Anchorage. This portion of the trip will include panning for gold, river and boat cruises, a visit to Santa’s home at the North Pole, dinner shows, salmon bakes, glaciers, and a ride on the scenic Alaska railroad. Next we will drive around the Kenai Peninsula and camp in Seward, Homer and Kenai. Our trip back toward the lower 48 will include stops in Valdez, Juneau, Haines, and Hyder. At every stop wildlife viewing opportunities abound. You will see numerous glaciers and perhaps see one calving into the sea or drink melted ice thousands of years old. See sled dogs bounding with energy, to humpback whales, a salmon run, eagles, bears, moose, etc. Perhaps you would like to take an optional plane flight around Denali, do some bear viewing or even fly to the Arctic Circle. Opportunities for world class fishing and hiking will be numerous. Your trip will end in Prince George, British Columbia as summer turns to fall with colorful foliage and mountains dusted with snow. This caravan is a true bucket list item!
